We support American industry by manufacturing our products domestically. Our raw materials are sourced only from American mills, including iron from Northern Minnesota’s Iron Range. Our coil stock is produced in the Midwest, and our accessories are roll-formed right at our Fargo plant.

Open Positions

Production Lead - Fargo, ND

EMCO Building Products seeks a qualified Production Lead to join our growing team. In this position, you will perform the duties necessary to develop people and manage priorities and processes within the EMCO production department. This position reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

Lead and train team members for efficient production processes. Evaluate labor and order requirements to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines with dedication to quality. Create and analyze work orders for required materials. Communicate material needs between roll-former and slitter. Operate machines to produce product as needed, and serve as a backup to all positions.

Lead and Train Team Members
  • Prioritize daily duties for team members to meet production goals.
  • Ability to perform all positions in EMCO production, as well as perform machine setups and troubleshooting.
  • Train team members on equipment usage, measuring tools, etc.
  • Facilitate teamwork to create a cohesive team.
  • Research other means and methods of production to recommend improvements in cost, quality, and efficiency.
  • Facilitate cross training in all areas to allow for coverage due to team member absences.
  • Document procedures and develop training tools for processes and procedures.
  • Make necessary approvals, adjustments, and entries into the ERP system daily at minimum to ensure inventory accuracy.
Quality Control
  • Train team members on quality requirements and standards.
  • Resolve quality issues and work proactively to avoid recurrence of quality problems in collaboration with the production Manager.
  • Develop and oversee end-of-the-line quality checks.
  • Ensure all order completions, material usage, and data entries are correct.
Safety and Housekeeping
  • Play a key role in enforcement of safety protocols and practices.
  • Ensure manufacturing/assembly procedures comply with safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Ensure regular housekeeping is performed in shop areas daily.
Other
  • Coordinate ready-to-ship orders with Shipping.
  • Improve and maintain inventory locations and investigate inventory issues.
  • Others as directed.

Requirements:

  • Motivated self-starter with the capacity to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work with computers
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to run and diagnose problems with manufacturing equipment
  • Detail and quality oriented
  • Ability to provide effective instruction and training

Machine Operator/Assembler - Fargo, ND

Responsibilities:

In this position, you’ll enjoy a variety of work while manufacturing exterior building products. On a daily basis, you will:

  • Operate a variety of machines
  • Inspect, package, and label products
  • Load material coils into machines
  • Stack boxed products
  • Ensure quality of finished products

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Forklift experience is preferred
  • Basic assembly and boxing experience is preferred
