We support American industry by manufacturing our products domestically. Our raw materials are sourced only from American mills, including iron from Northern Minnesota’s Iron Range. Our coil stock is produced in the Midwest, and our accessories are roll-formed right at our Fargo plant.

Open Positions

Sales Manager

Location: Remote within MN, ND, SD, WI, and IA; regular travel required

Based in Fargo, ND, EMCO Building Products and Eastside Machine Company are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing the sales team, driving sales growth, and establishing strong relationships with clients and stakeholders within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the external building materials industry and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. This remote position is open to candidates in MN, ND, SD, WI, and IA, with frequent travel throughout the region required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Territory Managers to achieve individual and team sales targets
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitor activities
  • Lead the development and implementation of product pricing and programs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Manage an assigned territory, fulfilling the function of a Territory Manager
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans to meet business objectives and drive market share growth
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of external building supplies and roll form equipment to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers
  • Manage the sales budget, track sales performance, and report on key metrics to senior management
  • Collaborate and work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure seamless customer experience
  • Attend national and regional trade shows and other events
  • Attend meetings to report on sales activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive-related sales experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate sales activities and projects
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members
  • Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related sales tools
  • Valid driver’s license, insurability, and ability to travel are required
